Why do canidates promise healthcare?


The president I'd vote for would be the first one who says keep our health care the same in every aspect as screwed up as it may seem, but provide nearly cost free Dental and Eye care system. What do you think? Would this be an effective way to satisfy the American People and the Health care system?

The world has too many people. Imagine the cost savings, the removal of Carbon footprint if we just let them all die. Win/win for the planet for sure

Reply:Why do they promise healthcare??? It's like the unwritten code for running for any office. I swear. They like to give people what they want to hear. Giving and following through are two very different things, though. Unfortunately, the healthcare system in this country will never be okay. I don't care what any politician claims he/she can do for "us".
Reply:Keeping it the same way would be stupid, it really does suck.





Promising thing you can't deliver also sucks.





I want a president who would fix it by leaving our healthcare alone. (by the way that would require change, the government controlls heathcare NOW)

Reply:Try to remember that America has the best health care system in the world. It's not perfect merely the best. And why would anyone want the government to be in charge of any aspect of their health care? You want the government to decide which doctor you can see? What type of treatment he can provide? You want the government to decide if you need a specialist? It would be the same with dental and eyeglasses.


Haven't you noticed the long lines at the post office or drivers license bureau? Try applying for a passport or social security card. Check out the Veterans hospitals. All of these are run by the government and all are massively inefficient and cost us a fortune in taxes. Do you seriously think they can run medical care any better?
Reply:The government needs to stay out of heath care. (and get out) To government can't run anything, why trust them with something as important as health care?
