Do you think Bush's budgeting plan is a total screw up?

The fact that many American's can't get access to decent health and dental care and that school's need more funding didn't seem to cross Heir Bush's mind when he gave another 515 billion to the military...

Do you think Bush's budgeting plan is a total screw up?
Yes, Bush's budget has been one of the strongest points Ive disagreed with him on. What in his right mind makes a 1 trillion a year defect 'ok' with him? We should never have red spending- unless we are in a time of war.

And even so, 100billion a year is spend on the war right now, 1/20th of the total annual income. and 1/30th of the total Budget.

Schools do not need more funding, the funds have been mismanaged for about 30 years. Low quality teachers, wasted money. Privet schools operate at a fraction of the cost, and produce phenomenal results when compared to US public schools.

Bush increased the Public school's funding by 24%, and no results came from it.

PS the National defense Budget is only 430billion a year, not 515 billion a year.

If you are implying we need Universal heath care, please think of the price tag that would come with it. I agree our health care system is broken, but it is because of government interference. The broken lawsuit holes is the source of the problem- it inflates doctors prices, witch inflates insurance rates. Causing the whole price to skyrocket with every lawsuit.

How we can fix this, is limit the number of lawsuits lowers can bring against doctors- to a point. Rightful lawsuits should happen, but lawsuits without probable cause like what has been happening is the main cause of the inflated price.

But above all else, we can not afford it- it will cost 1 trillion USD additional a year, we need to get back into a economical green area, and have a surplus once again before we can consider expanding health care.

Even if we did have a perfect economy, universal heath care is a bad idea, it makes the people reliant on the government- one of the best forms of controlling the people.
Reply:If you have problem with our governments domestic policies, it's not the President you should be focusing *all* of your ire on.

Even though the President can try to influence Congress and disagreeing with the President is certainly legitimate if you don't like his policies, the President has no power to create programs like UHC.

Congress holds the power of the purse and it is Congress who will decide if America will ever have UHC. When it comes to domestic policy, Congress holds all the power and are ultimately the ones blame for the things you don't like.

It's amusing how so many on this forum do not understand how the government operates and are totally clueless when it comes to the powers of the President.

This notion that a President can arbitrarily create all these programs or deny them from coming into existence, is just laughable.
Reply:Yes, Bush has screwed up cos he's failed to provide the very things the community needs i.e. affordable living.
Reply:it wont be going anywhere..congress is alredy laughing bout it
