Please, should one floss before or after brushing his/her teeth. Or maybe brush before AND after flossing?

I know the guidelines of American Dental Association (after) and I disagree as when you floss after then the bacteria again are dug out... Flossing before has even more votes against.

Please, should one floss before or after brushing his/her teeth. Or maybe brush before AND after flossing?
Just floss and then brush to get the funk off the teeth.
Reply:My dentist tells me to floss before brushing. I usually floss, brush and then really rinse with mouthwash
Reply:i floss before i brush.
Reply:I brush before and after flossing.
Reply:my dentist says to floss first %26amp; brush after. THen rinse with Listerine to kill bacteria %26amp; germs.
Reply:b4, that way it kicks up all the crud and brushing flushes it out
Reply:brush first, then floss
Reply:Which are you more comfortable doing? I believe the ADA has its own reasons (professional reasons, I might add) for encouraging us, guys, to floss after brushing. At any rate, if you still feel "dirty" after following their advice, then better brush before AND after flossing.

Nonetheless, it's good to know that you are conscious of your oral health. :-)
Reply:I personally brush - floss - brush - mouthwash. There is no particular guideline I follow, it just makes my mouth feel cleaner. I was a dental assistant for several years and got into the habit then. I really don't think it matters much when you do what as long as you do it!
