Don't we ALL have to admit that life in America is pretty good...if not where?

I can go to my sink and poor clean drinkable water 24/7, I'm better off then 71% of the worlds population. I like 84% of American have full health Insurance %26amp; dental, 16% don't BUT that numer keeps getting smaller. I can eat anything I want, I can go to any resturant I want, I can drive (within reason) any car I want. I can go any place in the world I want anytime. I have over 30 pairs of shoes, probably 50 pairs of pants. I own my own home with 5 arces..I even have a John Deere Tractor and a 1/2 arce fishing pond. I have a wonderful, beauitful wife that I love more than life and 3 wonderful kids I'm very proud of. Life and my world is far from perfect but it's better than 99.9999% of all mankind experienced. I am thankful to live in America. Not bad for a guy that lived in the back seat of a '70 Nova for 3 years...I've been on my own since I was 15..I felt blessed I had a car to sleep in and not outside. I've never owed any man a dime. I never had time to complain.

Your thoughts?

Don't we ALL have to admit that life in America is pretty good...if not where?
Your damm right this is the greatest country in the world, even those that think they have nothing should be thankful. We all have a lot to be thankful for

American is the greatest place in the world, and no one can or will over power us.

What scares me, if we are going to be destroyed, it's going to be from within. I am concerned when I listen to the liberals and what they want to change

Thank you for your great comments and the comments of many of those that have responded.

God bless you all
Reply:Best darned country in the world. If you disagree, then pack your bags
Reply:at least you know what it feels like to be on the other end of the american dream. too many people have had to sleep in cars, or on the street. too many people don't have food to eat. I love america, but the middle class is shrinking, and it is harder for people that are sleeping in their cars to make it to where you are. Good jobs are hard to find, with or without education.

add- It is still better to live here than 95% of the planet. we are very blessed.
Reply:Wow, you rich evil SOB. How dare you when so many in this country are starving, don't have satellite TV, only have 20 pairs of shoes, and only 40 pairs of pants?
Reply:My life is good, too. I've made it that way. No matter WHO has been president, we have always had jobs, paid our bills and taken care of our children. We own our house and we aren't really in need of anything. When we DO need something, we buy it.

I think the people who are unhappy with America and with our government are the people who don't think the government is doing enough for them. They might be happier if they did more for THEMSELVES. That's all I can guess.

@Beatrice: Whose fault is it that those children are poor? Our government's fault? Who keeps making people have babies that they can't afford to feed? America? There are TOO many social programs that make sure 'poor' people have housing and more than enough food, for anyone in this country to do without. What is their excuse? Why is it our fault or responsibility?
Reply:I agree 100%. I love America. Me may have a few issues, and that is why I'm so mad at the Reverend for cussing my country. What other country would let him get in a pulpit every Sunday and spew such hatred? They'd probably cut his tongue out .
Reply:Sure it is pretty good even homeless people smile at times. Things are good for me too but I pain inside because I share the world view that we are all in this together and not every man for himself.
Reply:I agree with you a hundred percent, but it doesn't mean we should ever stop trying to make our country better.
Reply:I agree that America is not a bad place to live. In fact, it's ******* great compared to a lot of other places. People who complain about it being a bad place need to travel a bit more or something. I do, however, know that there are problems in America that need to be addressed and fixed. My opinion is that it's good to have a healthy balance between being grateful for what you have and being aware of what could be improved.
Reply:Why don't you ask that same question to poor children in rural Missisippi, or poor children in Appalachia, or the children that live in the poor borders of Texas, in the slums of Detroit, the ghettos of the east coast. You are lucky, with hard work and luck you did pretty good........................But you know seem to have forgotten that our country still has a lot of poor, that go to bed hungry, still live in cars or on the streets. Maybe you should give some of those 30 pairs of shoes away, and give back to this great country of ours, I was poor and hungry growing up and I know that life in America is still not "pretty good" for a lot of people. I volunteer and help out, maybe you need to................................
Reply:Your story is inspirational. And your appreciation is rare.
Reply:In my own eyes, there is no better country to live in. We are so spoiled by our freedoms here that most people cannot see that it is worth fighting for.

God bless this country and our Armed forces!! And thank God they do what they do for us to have these wonderful freedoms!
Reply:Please tell that to the homeless vets and the 16% of the people that are now living in the street because there houses was forclosed on.
Reply:Proud to be an American. If you're willing to work, you can have the dream. If not, you get what you get. And those who are unable/unwilling to take care of themselves have a hard time - I would agree. BUT, they have it better in America than they would anywhere else.
