American dental association?

who would i get in touch with to complain to about the dentures my mom got. she has had nothing but problems since she got these in october of 06, also she has been told by dr. gilcrease that her temporary ones are actually her permanent ones. they are way to big for her mouth and they have already broke several times. she can't eat , she has sores all over her mouth. what course of action should she take?

American dental association?
Has your mother gone back for a re-line? I'm assuming she had these dentures put in immediately after the extractions. When this occurs, the denture will become too large b/c the swelling goes down substantially w/ time. However, if they were made as immediate dentures, the plate should have fit well when she left the office with them.

Have her take the plate to another dentist and just have them looked at. Perhaps someone who can physically evaluate the denture can give you more information.

Good luck.
Reply:If you are in the US, contact your state medical board and file a complaint.
Reply:Temps are not considered permanent. It should have been explained to her. Although some people do well with them After healing and shrinkage is gone a new set should have been made., because they will come loose. Temps are only for the time it takes for the healing process. Temps take more time with realigns, until the shrinkage is down. The better fit comes when the perms are made.
